Director, Enterprise Applications Division, OCLC
Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, OCLC is a nonprofit library service and research organization that has provided computer-based cataloging, reference, resource sharing, eContent, preservation, library management and Web services to 60,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories. OCLC and its member libraries worldwide have created and maintain WorldCat, the world's richest online resource for finding library materials.
My title is Director, Enterprise Applications Division. My division consists of 36 individuals and we are responsible for supporting and enhancing the "foundation applications" such as the Customer Relationship Management, ERP, Data Warehouse, Online Service Center, Billing, Invoicing, and other applications.
After graduation, I started out in the development world at JC Penney Insurance. DeVry enabled me to hit the ground running as a developer. As for my current role, my career has evolved over time. As I gained experience, promotions followed.
I have participated at the DeVry campus in Columbus on their Advisory Board. I've also worked with the school, holding sessions for seniors getting ready to enter the work force. I was the guest speaker at their Fall 2006 graduation ceremony and received the DeVry Columbus Distinguished Alumni Award.
I have volunteered in many areas over the years, everything from coaching sports to Leadership positions. They are as follows:
- Coaching children in sports
- Chairman of the 2004 United Way campaign at OCLC
- Participating in Community Care days
- United Way of Delaware County Impact Team Member - Implementing the United Way's commitment to focus its resources on the most pressing community issues and concerns.
- Leadership Delaware County
