M.P. Tech Consulting is a small firm with less than twenty five employees. Our staff consists of mostly tech writers and project managers. I'm one of the few engineers in the mix.

Through my company, I've held a variety of career positions. As a project coordinator, I have been responsible for managing a small section of corporate security. As a data analyst, I've performed such tasks as categorizing corporate information. As a global wireless network implementation engineer, I've designed and implemented 802.11 networks remotely. In my current assignment, I am a project manager/technical writer.

The Network Communications Management coursework at DeVry gave me the foundation for the jobs I have taken on. It has also giving me the confidence to handle new responsibilities with which I may not be comfortable and simply run with it.

I joined the DeVry Alumni Association Advisory Board because I like to get involved where I think I may be able to help others.

I continue to be involved with a program called I.G.N.I.T.E., Inspiring Girls Now In Technology Education. I first joined while a student at DeVry. I currently give back by speaking to students at their school or on the Microsoft Campus.

I am also involved with the two local school advisory committees for the Bethel and Yelm School Districts. Each one meets a few times a year and we help guide the staff on industry needs. Sometimes we speak to the students and tell our story.

I am just getting started with volunteering with DeVry. An instructor has contacted me asking me to speak with his students.
